Why to install new Ubuntu release – hooray!

update: just to make it clear, it was not the upgrade that messed up things. I was trying to reinstall the tz-brasil package because my system was not accepting the right time, then the packaging management system broke. From my previous experience, I went to fsck the filesystem, and found problems reading it. Rebooting it caused major failures – error 17 according to grub – and with a help from a live cd, I fsck the fs and it was entirely messed up. So, this is was what left of my system – lucky me this time I had my /home in a different partition:
